What is Rapé?

Ancient indigenous ancient cultures have long used sacred plants for healing and connection purposes. Knowing which herbs and plants to use and when can be an art form in and of itself. Rapé has been a sacred medicine used by Amazonian tribal cultures for thousands of years to overcome physical, psychological and emotional blocks as well as gain tremendous insight into other, subtler worlds. There are tens, if not hundreds blends of Rapé available as each tribe and each shaman creates their own blend for different purposes.

How is Rapé made?

The sacred art of making Rapé can take years to master as there are many plants involved, and knowledge needs to gained in how to harvest and prepare them. It may also involve extended periods of dieting with the plants in order to receive the teachings of these plants, and knowing how to combine them in synergy. Not only a shaman needs to know which plants to use, but also which parts of the plant to use - the root of the same plant can have a completely different effect than, let’s say, the leaves or the seeds of it. Because of the complexity of making Rapé, not everyone can do it. Many serious rapé makers consider the art of making rapé to be an apprenticeship, not only with the master shamans, but more importantly, with the plants themselves.
