Nymphaea Caerulea Alcohol-Free Liquid Extract

Blue Lotus flower is a water lily that predominantly grows in Egypt and certain parts of Asia. It's known as an entheogen, which is a mind-altering substance believed to alter one's consciousness in a spiritual / religious manner. The term entheogen is commonly used instead of “hallucinogenic” or “psychedelic”.

Blue Lotus holds cultural importance, and images of the flower have been found on ancient scrolls and on the walls of tombs. Historians believe it was once used in Egypt as a traditional remedy to treat an array of conditions and disorders like anxiety and insomnia.

The two main compounds responsible for the flower's psychoactive and therapeutic effects are apomorphine and nuciferine.

Dosage
Microdose: 1-5 drops, macrodose: 6-9 drops.

Contains
Nymphaea caerulea extract, vegetable oil base. Water soluble & alcohol free!

Why is this blue lotus extract alcohol-free and what is the base?

This extract uses a vegetable oil base instead of alcohol as the carrier medium. This makes it suitable for people who wish to avoid alcohol for personal, religious or health reasons. Despite the oil base, the extract is water-soluble, so you can easily mix it into water or other beverages. It contains the same active alkaloids, apomorphine and nuciferine, as the alcohol-based variants.

What is the difference between microdose and macrodose blue lotus extract?

At a microdose of 1 to 5 drops, most users experience subtle effects such as mild relaxation and a heightened sense of wellbeing. A macrodose of 6 to 9 drops produces more clearly noticeable effects. It is wise to start with the microdose to determine your personal sensitivity before increasing the amount. Is alcohol-free blue lotus extract less potent than the alcohol version?

Not necessarily. The potency of the extract depends on the concentration of alkaloids, not the carrier medium. The vegetable oil base extracts the fat-soluble components differently than alcohol, but the end result can be comparably potent. The main difference lies in absorption speed: alcohol is absorbed slightly faster through the mucous membranes, whereas the oil-based extract is absorbed more gradually.

How should you store alcohol-free blue lotus extract?

Store the bottle in a cool, dark place, preferably in the refrigerator after opening. Since there is no alcohol acting as a preservative, the extract is more sensitive to spoilage at high temperatures. Make sure the cap is always tightly sealed to prevent oxidation. With correct storage in the fridge, the extract remains usable for months. Regularly check the scent and appearance of the extract to assess quality.
