Honduran Crasvidmil Trinitario Cacao Paste - Central American Fine Flavor Cacao

This Trinitario cacao comes from the slopes around Lago de Yojoa, Honduras' largest natural lake. The volcanic soil – rich in minerals – feeds the cacao trees without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Since 1998, local farming families have worked together here in the Crasvidmil cooperative.

Fifty-two farmers, including fourteen women who manage their own land, share knowledge and resources. They grow the Trinitario variety, a natural cross between two cacao species known for its full flavor. Small farms averaging one and a half hectares, where every tree gets attention.

The cooperative handles everything themselves: harvesting, fermenting, drying. All in one place, controlled by the people who know the land. No middlemen, no transport to external processing facilities. That keeps the cacao fresh and the quality consistent.

Key features: Trinitario cacao from 52 small-scale farmers around Lago de Yojoa. Grown on volcanic soil without synthetic fertilizers. Taste of pure chocolate with earthy undertones and minerality. Processing entirely managed by the cooperative.

How does this Honduran cacao taste?

★ Mineral depth

The volcanic soil gives a light mineral note you taste immediately: a full, deep chocolate flavor with that characteristic body of well-fermented cacao.

★ Earthy chocolate notes

Think pure, dark chocolate with a soft, earthy base. The bitterness is mild and balanced. No sharp edges, but enough strength to give you energy during ceremonial use.

★ Grounding effect

This cacao works in a grounding way – perfect for meditation and inner work. The taste is solid enough to hold your attention without overwhelming you.

Use and dosage

Use 35-42 grams for a ceremonial dose – that's about a quarter of a 250 gram bar. Heat water to your desired temperature and mix the cacao thoroughly with a whisk or blender. You can drink it pure or add honey, cayenne pepper, or cinnamon. Drink on an empty stomach or at least two hours after eating.
