Jaguar Siembra Cacao 500g - Arhuaco Sierra Nevada Grown with Spiritual Intention

This ceremonial cacao comes from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a unique mountain range in northern Colombia known as "the Heart of the World". The world's highest coastal mountain - rising 5,600 meters directly from sea level - contains every climate zone from tropical heat to permanent snow. According to the local Tayrona communities, this micro-ecosystem supports the balance of the entire Earth's ecosystem. The cacao is cultivated by the Iku, one of four indigenous communities who have lived here for thousands of years as spiritual guardians of Mother Earth.

The Iku cultivate according to the Law of Origin - a system attuned to the rhythms of the moon, stars, and natural energies. Before and during the growing season, they perform spiritual payments: rituals where they offer stones, shells, and other sacred materials to nourish the earth before it nourishes us. This cacao therefore carries not just flavor, but the intentions and prayers of its growers.

Key features: Ceremonial quality from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Grown by Iku community using regenerative principles. Direct trade and fair pricing. Supports reforestation and cultural preservation. Organic and following permaculture principles. Climate-positive through tree certificates. 500-gram bar.

Sierra Nevada: The Heart of the World

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is a natural pyramid with a snow-capped peak - millions of years old and unique as the highest mountain directly at the sea. The area is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site, with a network of ecosystems that maintains the Earth's natural balance. Four indigenous communities (including the Iku and Arhuaco) protect this area and carry the responsibility of preserving the spiritual balance of the planet. They are seen as humanity's elder siblings, holding valuable knowledge about living in harmony with nature.

Around the Sierra runs the Black Line - a ring of interconnected sacred sites that together define the territorial order. This line connects rivers, springs, valleys, mountain peaks, and snow with each other and with the infinite universe. Each sacred area has an ecological function and contains rules for human life on Earth, focused on balance and harmony with nature.

Regenerative Agriculture and Direct Trade

★ Permaculture principles

The cacao grows in mixed food forests following permaculture principles: Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share. This method combines traditional Tayrona knowledge with modern insights in regenerative agriculture. Deforested areas are restored through community-based food production that protects soil, biodiversity, and cultural heritage.

★ Jaguar Siembra project

Jaguar Siembra is a nonprofit organization working toward food and climate resilience in the Sierra Nevada. By purchasing this cacao, you support reforestation projects and the preservation of indigenous cultural heritage. The long-term goal: protecting over one million people from hunger and poverty by creating 10,000 food forests and planting 8 million trees. Consumers finance farming families directly and share both harvests and risks.

★ Beyond fair trade

Trade is direct, transparent, and promotes self-determination within the Iku community. For each bar sold, cacao trees are planted. This makes the cacao climate-positive and contributes to ecosystem restoration.

Use and dosage

For ceremonial use: 30-42 grams per person. Grate or break the cacao into small pieces and melt slowly in 200-250ml warm water or plant-based milk (below 80°C). Stir until smooth. Add spices if desired: cinnamon for sweetness, cayenne for warmth, cardamom or vanilla for fragrance. Due to the cane sugar, this batch is slightly sweeter than standard ceremonial cacao - you'll need less additional sweetening. Drink slowly, preferably in a quiet moment or during meditation. For daily use: 20-30 grams is sufficient. The cacao works in a grounding, opening, and profound way - ideal for inner reflection.

Ingredients
