The Best Magic Truffles for a Psychedelic Party + Tips

Best magic truffles for a psychedelic party

Last updated: June 2026
This guide is regularly updated with our current truffle recommendations.

Whether you're hosting a psychedelic party, planning a friendly gathering or just want to trip with a couple of your closest friends: the right magic truffles and good preparation make the difference. Whether you're an experienced psychonaut or new to psychedelics, keeping a few key elements in mind makes it the best possible evening. We'll help you get started.

The best magic truffles for a party

Most psychedelic trips happen in small circles or in a guided setting, but exploring together doesn't have to be a solo activity. To keep things light and easy, it's better to choose milder truffles than you'd normally take. That way you journey together without it getting overwhelming. Two lovely options:

  • Magic Truffles Mexicana: if you want to keep things sunny, giggly and light, these are your best choice. Our best-selling truffles, with nice visuals and vibrant colours.
  • Magic Truffles Tampanensis: calling for a more philosophical evening? Then we recommend Tampanensis. Explore new insights and prepare for deep conversations and creative ideas.

Which truffle species for which vibe?

Vibe Species
Chill, ambient, intimate Mexicana, Pajaritos - mild, meditative, predictable
Visual, dance floor, festival Atlantis, High Hawaiians - visually intense, not for beginners
Reflective, art Tampanensis (Philosopher's Stones), Mokum - clear, creative
Strong, experienced group Hollandia, Utopia, Valhalla - only for experienced psychonauts

Does your group have mixed experience levels? Then offer different strengths: beginners take a mild Mexicana, experienced ones can go for Atlantis or Hollandia. For group orders, bulk truffles are handy. Want to read more? Check the species guide, the Next Level truffles and McSmart truffles.

How to make it a success together

Taking magic truffles with friends

  • Create a safe, comfortable space: pillows, blankets, nice lighting and music. If possible, have a quiet corner or outdoor area for anyone wanting privacy.
  • Think about your guest list: good friends you trust and feel comfortable with are perhaps the most important factor. Doubt about someone's vibe can create an unsettled atmosphere.
  • Have water and light snacks ready: you don't want to run to a shop mid-trip. Water, fruit, light snacks, matches and maybe a notebook come in handy. Stay hydrated.
  • Plan fun activities: deep conversations, music, dancing, nature, a game or a creative project. Leave room for spontaneity too.
  • Consider a trip sitter: not always necessary, but someone staying sober can help if you or others feel safer that way.

Dosing in a group context

Our magic truffles usually come in packages of 15 grams. A general guideline per person:

  • Mild trip: 5 to 7 grams
  • Strong trip: 10 grams
  • Very strong trip: 15 grams

Please note: The recommended Mexicana and Tampanensis are among the mildest truffles we sell, but don't take more than 15 grams per person at a time. Keep your experience nice and not overwhelming, and never combine truffles with alcohol or other substances. Prepare well; read our guide on a safe trip and avoiding a bad trip.

Frequently asked questions about a truffle party

Which truffles are best for a party with friends?

For a light, sociable atmosphere, the milder Mexicana or Tampanensis are ideal. That keeps things nice together and not overwhelming. Save the strong species for experienced psychonauts in a calmer setting.

How many truffles do you take in a group?

A mild trip is 5 to 7 grams per person, strong 10 grams, very strong 15 grams. With mixed experience, offer different strengths so everyone can join at their own level.

Is tripping together safe?

With good preparation, trusted people, a safe space and the right dose, tripping together is fine. A sober trip sitter and enough water help. Never combine with alcohol or other substances.

What do you do if someone feels overwhelmed?

Provide calm, change the environment or music, and let the trip sitter reassure them. Read our guide on avoiding a bad trip for more tips.

Can you order truffles in bulk for a group?

Yes, for groups, bulk truffles are handy and better value. That way you have enough for everyone, in the species and strength you want.

What's the difference between truffles and mushrooms?

Both contain psilocybin, but truffles are legal in the Netherlands and mushrooms are not. Read more in our blog on mushrooms vs. truffles.
