The dried, coarsely ground Sceletium tortuosum is enriched with kanna extract to a minimum of 5% total alkaloids. Its alkaloid profile stands out for a high share of the relaxing alkaloids: 55% mesembrine, 25% mesembrenone and 20% Δ7-mesembrenone.
