Why Copelandia Hits Faster
Chemical Composition
  • High Psilocin Content: Cubensis is high in Psilocybin but lower in Psilocin. Your body has to convert Psilocybin into Psilocin before you feel anything (taking 45-60 mins). Copelandia is naturally very high in Psilocin, which is already active and crosses the blood-brain barrier almost immediately.
  • Rapid Onset: Users often feel the effects within 15-20 minutes rather than the usual hour.
  • Less Material: Because they are so potent, you eat much less physical mushroom matter. This allows your stomach to digest them extremely quickly, reducing the "come-up" anxiety but increasing the initial intensity.
How to Identify Them
  • Size: Very small and slender compared to the chunky Cubensis. The stems are thin and fragile, often looking like bean sprouts.
  • Color: The caps are usually pale grey or off-white (fading to yellowish as they dry).
  • The "Blue" Sign: This is the most critical identifier. Because of the high psilocin content, if you touch or damage the stem, it will bruise a vivid, dark blue (almost black) very quickly.
Important Notice
This calculator provides general guidelines only. Individual sensitivity varies significantly. Factors like metabolism, tolerance, stomach contents, and mental state all affect your experience. If you're new to psychedelics, always start with a lower dose than recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between fresh and dried mushrooms?
Fresh mushrooms and truffles contain about 90% water. When dried, they lose this water weight, making the active compounds more concentrated. As a general rule, 10 grams fresh equals approximately 1 gram dried.
Why is Copelandia stronger than Cubensis?
Copelandia cyanescens (also known as Panaeolus cyanescens or "Hawaiian") contains significantly higher concentrations of psilocybin and psilocin compared to Psilocybe cubensis. This means you need roughly 2-3 times less material for the same effect.
How does body weight affect dosage?
Body weight influences how substances are distributed and metabolized in your body. Generally, larger individuals may need slightly higher doses to achieve the same effects, while smaller individuals may be more sensitive. However, individual brain chemistry often plays a more significant role than weight alone.
What is a microdose?
A microdose is a sub-perceptual dose, typically 1/10th to 1/20th of a regular dose. At this level, you shouldn't experience any visual effects or significant alterations in consciousness. Many people use microdoses for subtle cognitive enhancement, creativity, or mood support while going about their daily activities.
