Crystals are often combined with ceremonial tools. This kuripe has a small crystal worked into the kuripe, attached with resin or natural glue. The type of crystal differs per kuripe - the makers in the Amazon choose the stone per piece.
The bamboo is first shaped into a working kuripe. Then comes the crystal. A spot is created where the stone fits, on top of the kuripe. The stone is secured and the whole piece is finished. It's decorative but a lot of users also attach value to the energetic properties of crystals.
