Cleaning Brush for Kuripe and Tepi Maintenance

Rapé sticks. Not immediately, but after a few uses, residue builds up inside the tubes of your kuripe or tepi. Warm water rinses most of it away, but not everything. This brush gets into those narrow channels and removes what water can't reach.

The bristles are coconut fiber - stiff enough to scrub but soft enough not to damage bamboo or wood. The diameter is small, about 3-4mm, so the brush fits into most kuripe and tepi channels. The handle is long enough to get through the entire length of an average kuripe.

Key Features: Natural coconut fiber bristles. Small diameter (3-4mm) for kuripe and tepi channels. Sturdy enough for proper cleaning. Soft enough for bamboo and wood. Durable for repeated use.

Why a Special Brush?

★ Removing Rapé Residue

Rapé contains oils and fine plant particles that can stick to the inside of tubes. After multiple applications, a layer forms. This layer can affect flow and causes flavor buildup. The brush removes this layer.

★ Longer Lifespan for Your Kuripe

Clean channels mean less buildup of moisture and residue. That prevents mold and odors. Bamboo and wood can swell with too much moisture, but if you clean regularly, everything stays drier and in better condition.

Use

Wet the brush with water (warm is fine). Insert the brush into the channel of your kuripe or tepi. Rotate and move back and forth to loosen all residue. Pull the brush out and rinse the kuripe with water. Repeat until water runs clear. Let the brush dry after use.

Important Note

Note: This brush doesn't fit our Kuripe Meranti. The channels of that specific kuripe are narrower than average. For other kuripes and all tepis, the brush works fine.

Does this brush fit all kuripes and tepis?

The brush fits most kuripes and all tepis thanks to its small diameter of 3-4mm. Please note: the brush does not fit the Kuripe Meranti, as that specific kuripe has narrower channels than average. For all other models in our range, the brush works fine.

How often should you clean a kuripe or tepi with a brush?

Ideally after every session, or at minimum after every few uses. Rapé contains oils and fine plant particles that accumulate in the channels. This can affect flow and causes flavour buildup. Regular cleaning significantly extends the lifespan of your kuripe. Find more maintenance tips in our rapé handbook.

Why coconut fibre and not nylon for this brush?

Coconut fibres are stiff enough to effectively remove rapé residue but soft enough not to damage bamboo and wood. Nylon can leave scratches on softer wood. The natural fibres are also durable and environmentally friendly, fitting the ceremonial character of the products.
