A tincture is a liquid plant extract where active compounds are dissolved in alcohol (ethanol) or glycerine. An extract can also be offered in dry form (powder) after evaporation of the solvent. Tinctures offer faster absorption through the oral mucosa, while dry extracts have a longer shelf life.
Drop the recommended amount sublingually (under your tongue) and hold for 30–60 seconds for optimal absorption through the mucous membrane. Sublingual intake is more effective than mixing into a drink as it bypasses digestion. Always start with a low dose and increase gradually. The exact dosage is listed on the product label.
