On Balance Truweigh - Digital Precision Scale 200g with 0.01g Accuracy

The Truweigh series from On Balance was developed for users who need just a bit more capacity without compromising on accuracy. With 200 grams maximum capacity and the same 0.01 gram precision as smaller models, this scale is perfect for those who regularly weigh medium quantities.

The design is thoughtful: the weighing platform is larger than compact scales, making it easier to place trays or bags. The display is clearly readable from different angles, and the buttons respond smoothly without having to press hard. With the Truweigh, On Balance has created a scale that works intuitively for both beginners and experienced users.

Key Features: Capacity 200 grams with 0.01 gram precision. Larger weighing platform than compact models. Clear LCD screen with good readability. Tare function for easy net weighing. Auto shut-off saves battery. Multiple weighing units (gram, ounce, pennyweight, grain). Runs on 2x AAA batteries (included). Protective cover included. Very popular among regular users.

When to Choose the Truweigh?

✧ For larger portions

If you often weigh more than 50-100 grams at once, the Truweigh is more convenient than smaller scales. You can weigh in one go instead of having to split.

✧ Larger work surface

The more spacious weighing platform gives you more room to work. Trays sit more stable, bags fit on it more easily, and you're less likely to accidentally knock something over while dosing.

Use and Tips

Starting up: Insert the batteries according to polarity in the battery compartment. Turn on the scale with the ON/OFF button. Wait until 0.00g appears on the display before starting to weigh.

Using tare function: Place your empty tray or container on the platform. Press TARE. The display shows 0.00g. Now add your product and you'll see only the net weight of your product, without the container weight.

Switching units: Press MODE/UNITS to switch between gram, ounce, pennyweight and grain. The chosen unit remains active until you change it, even after switching off.

Calibration: The Truweigh is delivered calibrated, but if in doubt you can recalibrate it with a 200 gram calibration weight (not included).

Maintenance and Care

Keeping clean: Regularly wipe the weighing platform clean with a dry cloth. For stubborn residue you can use a slightly damp cloth, but make sure no moisture gets into the scale.

Storage: Store the scale in the included protective cover when not in use. This protects against dust and scratches. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

Lifespan: With normal use this scale lasts for years. The most common wear is in the batteries - replace them timely to continue guaranteeing accurate measurements.

Technical Specifications

  • Accuracy: 0.01 gram (10 milligrams)
  • Weighing units: gram (g), ounce (oz), pennyweight (dwt), grain (gn)

Note: for maximum accuracy always weigh on a flat, stable surface. Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and let the scale acclimatize if you move it from cold to warm (or vice versa).

What is the advantage of the Truweigh 200g over the SL-100?

The biggest advantage is the double capacity: 200 grams versus 100 grams, with the same 0.01 gram accuracy. This means you can weigh larger amounts in one go without splitting. Additionally, the Truweigh has a larger weighing platform on which trays and containers sit more stably, and an included protective cover for safe transport. The Truweigh is the better choice if you regularly weigh portions above 50 grams or want more workspace on the platform.

Can I use the On Balance Truweigh to weigh herbs for capsules?

Absolutely, the Truweigh is particularly well suited for portioning herbs for capsules. With 0.01 gram precision, you can accurately weigh the right amount per capsule, which is essential for consistent dosing. Use the tare function: place an empty dish, press TARE, then weigh your herb powder. The 200 gram capacity gives you room to prepare larger batches and portion efficiently without having to reweigh constantly.

How long do the batteries last with normal use of the Truweigh?

With normal use of 5 to 10 weighing moments per day, the 2 AAA batteries last on average 3 to 6 months. The automatic shut-off after 60 seconds of inactivity is the main factor extending battery life. If you do not use the scale for a longer period, it is wise to remove the batteries to prevent leakage. The scale displays a low battery warning when it is time to replace. Always replace both batteries simultaneously for optimal performance.
