Copelandia Grow Kit Guide

Copelandia (Panaeolus cyanescens) Grow Kit - Growing Guide

Growing Copelandia magic mushrooms differs significantly from the method you are used to with a standard Cubensis grow kit. This guide will walk you through the process step by step. For the best results: follow our instructions carefully and watch both instruction videos if this is your first time.

Important Before You Begin

Hygiene is essential: Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap before handling the grow kit or the mushrooms. Always work in a clean, sterile environment.

Items Included (in the package)

  • The grow kit
  • The grow bag
  • Two cups of soil (casing layer)
  • One paper clip

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

Open the box and take out all components. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap, remove the lid from the grow kit and set it aside for later use.

Step 2: Apply Casing Layer

Spread the soil from both cups evenly over the surface of the grow kit. Ensure an even layer across the entire top.

Step 3: Moistening and Bag Placement

Spray the top soil layer thoroughly so it is very moist (as shown in the video). Also spray the inside of the grow bag. Ensure there is sufficient oxygen in the bag, place the grow kit inside, and close the bag with the paper clip.

Step 4: Daily Care

Mist the top layer and the inside of the bag daily. Provide fresh air exchange by gently squeezing the bag (letting old air out and fresh air in). It is crucial to keep the top layer moist during this stage.

Step 5: Mushroom Formation

Mushrooms will typically form after 7 to 14 days (but sometimes up to 4 weeks or longer). Once mushrooms begin to grow: remove the grow kit from the bag, spray only the inside of the bag and refresh the oxygen, then place the kit back in the bag. Important: Copelandia mushrooms do not like direct contact with water.

Step 6: Harvesting

The mushrooms are ready to harvest 5-7 days after they start growing. Harvest 36 hours after the first black spores begin to fall from the mushroom caps. Harvest the mushrooms by gently pushing them over until the bottom of the stem snaps.

Step 7: Preparing for the Next Harvest

After harvesting, make the top layer very moist again by spraying (ensure you do not drench it). Then start again at step 3 and repeat the entire cycle.

Important Growing Conditions

  • Temperature: 24-28°C (higher than Cubensis kits)
  • Humidity: High (90-95%)
  • Light: Place in a bright location with indirect light
  • Daily attention: Keep the top layer moist and provide fresh air

Note: Copelandia is more sensitive than other mushroom grow kits. Precise care is essential for success.
